Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Data Center Energy Lead to oversee energy procurement and market strategy across Europe. You will work from a EU-based base to secure multi-hundred megawatt capacity for AI compute, navigating TSOs, DSOs, regulators, and network codes while aligning with project delivery timelines.

You will lead energy policy, grid connection processes, and commercial structures like PPAs to accelerate capacity delivery for Anthropic's datacentre footprint.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in energy procurement, utility development, or power markets for large-scale infrastructure projects across Europe.
• Deep expertise in EU electricity markets, capacity mechanisms, and grid connection processes.
• Proven track record securing 100+ MW power capacity and navigating PPAs or similar structures.

Responsibilities

• Develop energy deployment strategies (grid-connected or behind-the-meter) to accelerate energisation.
• Lead procurement and markets strategy to secure multi-hundred MW capacity for AI infrastructure in EU markets.
• Manage regulatory stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions, engaging TSOs, DSOs, and regulators.
• Monitor EU network codes and regulatory developments to address grid capacity challenges.
• Translate energy market dynamics into actionable capacity acceleration plans with delivery teams.
• Gather market intelligence on power availability, constraints, and queue dynamics for site strategy.
• Design commercial frameworks (PPAs, network use of system, behind-the-meter) to mitigate risks.
