Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Assistant Consultant in Cost Intelligence and Estimating to support cost estimating, benchmarking and commercial insight for major infrastructure programmes across the built environment. You will work with senior colleagues, develop your judgement, and take increasing ownership of outputs while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

A strong interest in cost management and data-driven decision making is essential for a growing cost intelligence

Qualifications

• Experience preparing, supporting or reviewing cost estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, tender information, valuations, change assessments or commercial reports.
• An interest in infrastructure, construction and the built environment.
• The confidence to work with increasing independence, while remaining collaborative and following project processes.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to explain cost information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead defined elements of estimating, cost planning and benchmarking for major programmes and projects.
• Analyse tender information and benchmark project costs to inform commercial decisions.
• Work with project teams, procurement and senior colleagues to improve cost confidence and transparency.
• Develop and apply cost intelligence methods using data and digital tools to support delivery.
• Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams, managing tasks and deadlines.
