Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks an Assistant Consultant within our Cost Intelligence and Estimating team to support and lead defined elements of estimating, cost planning, benchmarking and commercial insight for major infrastructure programmes and projects.

You will work with senior colleagues, grow independence, manage tasks, and contribute to deliverables across transport, water, energy and public realm sectors, with opportunities for site visits and collaboration across WSP locations.

Qualifications

• Qualification, apprenticeship background or relevant professional experience in quantity surveying, estimating, construction cost management, commercial management or a related discipline.
• Experience preparing, supporting or reviewing cost estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, tender information, valuations, change assessments or commercial reports.
• Interest in infrastructure, construction and the built environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with estimating, cost planning, benchmarking and commercial insight commissions for major infrastructure programmes and projects.
• Prepare and review cost estimates and cost plans, analyse tender information, benchmark project costs and support procurement activities.
• Develop judgement, take ownership of outputs and communicate clearly with project teams and clients.
