Connect Appointments is seeking an Estimator/Bid Coordinator to join our Midlothian-headquartered team. You will analyse specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates, collaborating with sales and engineering to shape competitive proposals.

The role requires cost-control experience and proficiency with estimating software and Excel, with responsibilities spanning vendor pricing, risk assessment, and budget review.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost control and management.
• Experience working in the commercial fitting industry.
• Strong administration and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and supply-only quotes.
• Collaborate with sales and engineering to develop project proposals meeting client needs and budget.
• Source pricing for materials and equipment, negotiate pricing with vendors, and evaluate total cost of ownership.
• Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Review project budgets, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Support project execution by reviewing change orders and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain records of estimates and cost data for future reference.
• Monitor industry trends to stay updated on new products and best practices.
