Job summary

Proactive Global in the Leicestershire area is seeking a Bid Estimator/Engineer with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or automation to drive pre-contract activity.

You will lead cost modelling, define scopes, and prepare compliant bids for varied projects, coordinating with design, procurement, and delivery teams, while ensuring adherence to QMS and safety policies.

This role offers £45K-£55K on a yearly basis and requires at least five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering.
• Experience in Food & Beverage, Logistics, or Distribution sectors is advantageous.
• Previous exposure to estimating, scope definition, or pre-contract engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare precise, competitive, and compliant bids and quotations for Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation projects.
• Analyse client specifications, drawings, and tender documents to define project requirements.
• Establish scope, assumptions, exclusions, and risk contingencies.
• Collaborate with Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Installation teams during bid preparation.
• Provide technical input to support Sales in client meetings and presentations.
• Conduct site visits and technical clarifications as necessary.
• Compile comprehensive handover documentation for Project Delivery teams upon contract award.
• Adhere to company QMS, Health & Safety policies, and organisational values.
