Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking an Estimator for Aluminium Glazing Systems, based in Cardiff, to produce estimates for various projects. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of estimating experience in the UK construction industry and a strong background in architectural glazing.

Qualifications

Job description

Location: Commutable to Cardiff

The role of the Estimator Aluminium Glazing Systems will involve:

• Estimator position producing estimates for the design, manufacture and installation of aluminum curtain walling, windows, doors and facades
• Review tender documents and produce high quality tender returns
• Utilise specialist estimating software to determine material costs
• Negotiate prices with supply chain and gather quotations for projects
• Liaise and build relationships with main contractor throughout the project and beyond
• Ensure that the internal CRM system is regularly updated li>
• Preparing handover documents for the contracts department, once a project has been secured
• Attending pre and post tender meetings as and when required
• Estimating for projects ranging in value from £100k to circa £10m
• Prioritise own work load to ensure deadlines are met

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years estimating experience within the UK construction industry
• Ideally will have a strong background dealing with architectural glazing, curtain walling, fire rated glazing & structural glazing
• Ideally have experience with Logikal, Kawneer, Metal Technology, AluProf and Technal systems.
• Strong ability to conduct take offs
• Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
• Must be IT literate (Microsoft Office)
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
