Job summary

Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is seeking an Estimator/Senior Estimator for residential civils work based in Middlesbrough. You’ll join a busy pre-construction team to price packages including plot works, roads, sewers, drainage and earthworks for major housebuilders.

Responsibilities include tender preparation, take-offs, cost planning and reviewing drawings and tender documents while collaborating with commercial and operations teams to drive competitive bids and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience within civil engineering, groundworks or residential infrastructure.
• Strong measurement, take-off and pricing skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.

Estimator/Senior Estimator - Residential Civils

Location: Middlesbrough

Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is working with an established and growing civil engineering contractor looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with the appointment of an Estimator.

The role will focus on residential civils projects, pricing packages including plot works, roads, sewers, drainage, earthworks and associated groundworks for major housebuilders across the region.

The Role

Working as part of the pre-construction team, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive tenders for residential infrastructure and groundworks projects.

You'll review tender documentation and drawings, undertake take-offs, obtain and assess supply chain quotations and build up detailed costs from first principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and tender submissions for residential civils projects

What We're Looking For

• Previous estimating experience within civil engineering, groundworks or residential infrastructure

• Strong measurement, take-off and pricing skills
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and bills of quantities
• Good commercial awareness
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication and organisational skills
