Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is partnering with an established civil engineering contractor to recruit an Estimator for residential civils in Wakefield. The role focuses on pricing packages including plot works, roads, sewers, drainage and earthworks for major housebuilders, with a view to securing profitable tenders.

You'll work in the pre-construction team to prepare accurate estimates, review drawings and take-offs, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver competitive bids

Estimator/Senior Estimator - Residential Civils

Location: Wakefield

Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits

Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is working with an established and growing civil engineering contractor looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with the appointment of an Estimator.

The role will focus on residential civils projects, pricing packages including plot works, roads, sewers, drainage, earthworks and associated groundworks for major housebuilders across the region.

The Role

Working as part of the pre-construction team, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive tenders for residential infrastructure and groundworks projects.

You’ll review tender documentation and drawings, undertake take-offs, obtain and assess supply chain quotations and build up detailed costs from first principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and tender submissions for residential civils projects
• Price plot works, roads, sewers, drainage, earthworks and groundworks packages
• Carry out quantity take-offs and cost planningReview drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options
• Prepare pricing information for tender reviews and adjudications
• Work closely with commercial and operational teams
• Produce detailed handover information for secured projects

What We're Looking For

• Previous estimating experience within civil engineering, groundworks or residential infrastructure
• Good understanding of residential roads, sewers, drainage and plot works
• Strong measurement, take-off and pricing skills
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and bills of quantities
• Good commercial awareness
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication and organisational skills
