Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an Estimator in London to join the Pre-Construction team. The role involves preparing cost estimates, tender submissions, and reviewing drawings and specifications for reinforced concrete frames and civil works.

You will analyse quotations, perform quantity take-offs, assess risks, and support competitive tenders while collaborating with clients and subcontractors. Candidates should have proven estimating experience in construction, strong numerical and commercial

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience within construction (FRC, civils or structural works).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical and commercial awareness.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with estimating software such as Candy advantageous.

Estimator -

Location: London
Salary: £55,000-£75,000 + Package

I'm currently working with a leading specialist construction contractor who is looking to recruit an Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team.

The successful candidate will be involved in pricing a range of projects across reinforced concrete frames, cut and carve, structural alterations and civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.

• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.

• Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities.

• Assess project risks and identify potential cost savings.

• Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

• Support the preparation and submission of competitive tenders.

• Work closely with the commercial and operational teams.

Requirements:

• Previous estimating experience within construction, ideally FRC, civils or structural works.

• Good understanding of construction methods and materials.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Strong numerical and commercial awareness.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• Experience with estimating software such as Candy would be advantageous.
