Aldwych Consulting is recruiting an Estimator to join a leading specialist construction contractor in London. The role involves pricing a range of projects from reinforced concrete frames to civil works within the Pre-Construction team.

You will review drawings and tender documents, obtain quotations, perform quantity take-offs and contribute to competitive bids. The ideal candidate will have proven estimating experience in construction and strong numeracy and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience within construction, ideally FRC, civils or structural works.
• Good understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical and commercial awareness.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with estimating software such as Candy would be advantageous.

Salary: £55,000-£75,000 + Package

I'm currently working with a leading specialist construction contractor who is looking to recruit an Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team.

The successful candidate will be involved in pricing a range of projects across reinforced concrete frames, cut and carve, structural alterations and civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities.
• Assess project risks and identify potential cost savings.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support the preparation and submission of competitive tenders.
• Work closely with the commercial and operational teams.
