Job summary

Mitchell Maguire Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Estimator – Interior Fit Out for a Leicester-based hybrid role covering national projects. You will prepare detailed estimates for hospitality, retail and office environments, using drawings, specs and quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

The role involves travel (approximately once per week), procurement support, cost control, and tender management for projects up to £1.5m (£80k–£250k typical).

Qualifications

• Experience estimating in shop fitting or fit-out sectors or related background.
• Procurement management, buying, or commercial management with estimating experience is desirable.
• Manufacturing experience in related areas (furniture, joinery, metals) is advantageous.
• Good understanding of industry processes, materials and costs.

Responsibilities

• Hybrid Estimator/Procurement handling commercial shop fitting projects (hospitality, retail, office).
• Occasional national travel typically once per week to project sites.
• Support project delivery through procurement, cost control and supplier management.
• Manage full tender process from take-offs and pricing through submission and handover.
• Produce accurate estimates using drawings, specifications and supplier/subcontractor quotations.
• Source and negotiate materials, services and subcontractor costs for competitive pricing.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Work on projects up to £1.5m (typical £80k-£250k).

The role Estimator – Interior Fit Out will involve:

• Hybrid Estimator / Procurement position dealing with a range of commercial shop fitting projects for hospitality, retail and office environments
• May be a requirement to travel nationally to projects to ensure successful ongoing delivery (typically once per week)
• Support project delivery through effective procurement, cost control and supplier management.
• Manage full tender process, from take-offs and pricing through to submission and handover
• Produce accurate estimates using drawings, specifications and supplier/subcontractor quotations
• Source and negotiate materials, services and subcontractor costs to achieve competitive pricing
• Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams
• Working on project sizes varying in size up to £1.5m (typically £80k-£250k)

The ideal applicant will be an Estimator – Interior Fit Out with:

• Must have Estimating experience within the Shop fitting or fit-out sectors or from a closely related background
• Candidates with a background in Procurement Management, Buying, Commercial Management or related, combined with previous Estimating experience are encouraged to apply
• Highly advantageous to have related manufacturing experience (eg furniture, light steel, joinery etc.)
• Good technical knowledge and good understanding of industry processes, materials and costs
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
