Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking an Estimator – Interior Fit Out in Leicester. Hybrid procurement and estimating role for hospitality, retail and office environments with projects up to £1.5m.

You will manage tenders from take-offs to submission, produce estimates from drawings and quotes, negotiate costs, liaise with clients and contractors, and travel nationally about once per week.

Qualifications

• Must have estimating experience within the Shop fitting or fit-out sectors or from a closely related background.
• Background in Procurement Management, Buying or Commercial Management encouraged.
• Manufacturing experience (eg furniture, light steel, joinery) is advantageous.
• Good technical knowledge of industry processes, materials and costs.
• Highly organized with good attention to detail; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full tender processes from take-offs and pricing through to submission and handover.
• Produce accurate estimates using drawings, specifications and supplier/subcontractor quotations.
• Source and negotiate materials, services and subcontractor costs to achieve competitive pricing.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams throughout projects.
• Travel nationally to project sites as needed (typically once per week).

The role Estimator – Interior Fit Out will involve:

• Hybrid Estimator / Procurement position dealing with a range of commercial shop fitting projects for hospitality, retail and office environments
• May be a requirement to travel nationally to projects to ensure successful ongoing delivery (typically once per week)
• Support project delivery through effective procurement, cost control and supplier management.
• Manage full tender process, from take-offs and pricing through to submission and handover
• Produce accurate estimates using drawings, specifications and supplier/subcontractor quotations
• Source and negotiate materials, services and subcontractor costs to achieve competitive pricing
• Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams
• Working on project sizes varying in size up to £1.5m (typically £80k-£250k)

The ideal applicant will be an Estimator – Interior Fit Out with:

• Must have Estimating experience within the Shop fitting or fit-out sectors or from a closely related background
• Candidates with a background in Procurement Management, Buying, Commercial Management or related, combined with previous Estimating experience are encouraged to apply
• Highly advantageous to have related manufacturing experience (eg furniture, light steel, joinery etc.)
• Good technical knowledge and good understanding of industry processes, materials and costs
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Full UK driving license
