Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in Rochdale for an Applications & Estimating Engineer to join their growing team. You will interpret drawings, prepare quotations and lead times, and advise on manufacturing options to deliver practical solutions.

The role offers a varied mix of estimating, applications engineering, technical support and customer engagement within a specialist manufacturing environment in Rochdale.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, applications engineering or manufacturing engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with springs, wire forming, metal pressing or precision components.
• Experience producing quotations, cost estimates and lead times.
• Strong communication skills to discuss technical solutions with customers and colleagues.
• Candidates from roles such as Estimating Engineer, Applications Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Quotations Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Project Engineer are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
• Producing accurate quotations, costings and lead time estimates.
• Assessing component designs and identifying manufacturing considerations.
• Advising customers on materials, processes and design improvements.
• Supporting technical discussions with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Working closely with production and commercial departments to deliver commercially viable solutions.
