Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer in Rochdale for an Applications & Estimating Engineer to join their growing team. You will interpret drawings, prepare quotations and lead times, and advise on manufacturing options to deliver practical solutions.

The role offers a varied mix of estimating, applications engineering, technical support and customer engagement within a specialist manufacturing environment in Rochdale.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, applications engineering or manufacturing engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with springs, wire forming, metal pressing or precision components.
• Experience producing quotations, cost estimates and lead times.
• Strong communication skills to discuss technical solutions with customers and colleagues.
• Candidates from roles such as Estimating Engineer, Applications Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Quotations Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Project Engineer are encouraged to apply.

Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm | Friday 7:00am to 12:00pm

Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an Applications & Estimating Engineer to join their growing team in Rochdale. This position would suit someone with experience in spring manufacturing, wire forms, precision metal components or a similar engineering environment who enjoys solving technical challenges, preparing quotations and working closely with customers to deliver practical manufacturing solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements
• Producing accurate quotations, costings and lead time estimates
• Assessing component designs and identifying manufacturing considerations
• Advising customers on materials, processes and design improvements
• Supporting technical discussions with customers, suppliers and internal teams
• Working closely with production and commercial departments to deliver commercially viable solutions

To be considered for this Applications & Estimating Engineer opportunity, you should have:

• Previous experience in an estimating, applications engineering, technical sales or manufacturing engineering role
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Knowledge of springs, wire forming, metal pressing, precision components, CNC manufacturing or related processes
• Experience producing quotations, cost estimates and lead time calculations
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to discuss technical solutions with customers and colleagues
• Candidates from backgrounds such as Estimating Engineer, Applications Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Quotations Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Project Engineer or Costing Engineer are encouraged to apply.
