Job summary

Bowmay Consulting on behalf of a global engineering client in the Rochdale area is seeking a Production Engineer to support all production activities and drive process improvements.

The successful candidate will have a machining-biased apprenticeship up to HNC/HND, plus 4/5 axis machining experience, the ability to read engineering drawings, and familiarity with CAD/CAM/SAP. Strong teamwork and independent initiative, plus excellent communication, are essential.

Qualifications

• Machining biased apprenticeship up to HNC/HND in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
• Experience with 4 and 5 axis machining and CNC lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Project management experience.
• Comfort working in a team and on own initiative.
• Excellent communication when dealing with many stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide support across production areas to improve process capability and yield.
• Assist with routings, programmes, tooling, fixtures and technical support.
• Support BOMs, production orders and costings.
• Use SolidWorks, CAD, CAM and SAP in daily tasks.

• Machining biased apprenticeship up to HNC/HND level in Mechanical/Production Engineering
• Experience of 4 and 5 axis machining techniques and CNC Lathes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Project management experience
• Whist we need a good team player, you ll also be comfortable working on your own initiative
• Excellent communication skills are required as you ll be dealing with lots of other people in the business
