Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Estates Officer (Mechanical) to join the Estates Management Team in Bedfordshire. You will advise the Estates Manager on technical matters and lead the Maintenance Team to safeguard patient care during maintenance and repairs.

The role requires knowledge of infrastructure services and compliance with current legislation, with responsibilities for supervision, energy efficiency, and adherence to permits, RAMS and safety policies.

Competenze

• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure services and mechanical systems.
• Experience supervising maintenance teams and coordinating with hospital departments.
• Understanding of current legislation, health and safety standards.

Mansioni

• Advise Estates Manager on technical matters for building maintenance.
• Provide supervisory leadership to the Maintenance Team and liaise with key Trust departments.
• Ensure maintenance and repair works are delivered with minimal impact on patient care.
• Manage all delegated service contracts and oversee out-of-hours on-call work.
• Senior supervision of team leaders, technicians and mechanical craftspersons.
• Operate Permit-to-Work systems, Hazard Notices, RAMS and Health & Safety policies.
• Act as Authorised Person for Mechanical disciplines (Water Safety, MGPS, HVAC).
• Prepare and implement minor renewal schemes and minor improvement works.
• Carry out site surveys, inspections, drawings and specifications as required.
• Ensure compliance with HTMs and all statutory regulations in Health & Safety.
