Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Officer to assist the Estates Manager (Operational) in maintaining the Trust's buildings, plant, and grounds to high standards. You will support capital projects and manage minor upgrades, ensuring safe, compliant operations across sites.

The role requires supervising maintenance contracts, leading teams, delivering energy-saving schemes, and maintaining accurate records while adhering to Trust policies and budgets.

Qualifications

• Experience managing mechanical services and maintenance contracts.
• Ability to lead and develop a team under Trust policies.
• Experience with energy improvement schemes and cost-saving delivery.
• Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe working practices.
• Experience supporting capital projects and option appraisals.

Responsibilities

• Engage and supervise maintenance contracts and works with Mechanical Services.
• Manage the operational/infrastructure service delivery team and contractors.
• Maintain records, drawings and IT systems for the Estates function.
• Support energy-saving initiatives and capital project delivery.
• Assist in feasibility studies, financial appraisals and budget control.
• Organise shutdowns for maintenance, refurbishment and new-build projects.
