Coleg y Cymoedd is seeking a Grounds Person for our Ystrad Mynach Campus in Wales. The role is full-time and involves maintaining the College grounds, operating grass-cutting machinery and supporting the Estates & Facilities team.

You will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and, for roles involving direct learner interaction, registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is mandatory. Flexible working options may be discussed during recruitment.

Job description

As a Grounds Person, you will work on a full-time shift basis, primarily based at Ystrad Mynach Campus. The role is focused on maintaining the College's grounds and outdoor spaces, including the safe operation of grass-cutting machinery and associated grounds maintenance equipment, ensuring the campus remains safe, attractive and well-presented throughout the year. Alongside seasonal grounds maintenance duties, you will support the wider Estates & Facilities team by undertaking a range of Estates responsibilities as required, helping to maintain safe, secure and compliant learning environments across the College. The role includes key-holding responsibilities and participation in an out-of-hours rota for intruder and fire alarm call-outs. Whilst predominantly based at Ystrad Mynach Campus, occasional travel to other College sites may be required to support operational needs, planned maintenance activities and reactive works.
