Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Technician with a mechanical bias to join the Estate Team in Torquay. The role involves hands-on maintenance, planned, reactive and preventative tasks across the trust estate, and teamwork with other trades.

Requirements include four-year accredited trade training or a level 3 qualification, CPD, and a current driving licence. You’ll work a 7.15am–6pm rota or five 7.5-hour days, with on-call duties and some out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

• Four-year accredited trade training or equivalent.
• CPD within recent years is expected.
• Experience in multi-skilled trades and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, reactive and unplanned mechanical maintenance across the estate.
• Work on engineering services, equipment and systems with other trades.
• Deliver repair and preventative maintenance to keep estate compliant.
• Keep mechanical plant operating to provide correct service and environment.
• Attend on-call duties and emergency calls outside normal hours.
• Work a 7.15am–6pm rota or five 7.5-hour days, with potential overtime.
