Job summary

LiveWest is seeking an Estate Safety Officer to ensure safety in communal areas, manage Legionella, and conduct risk assessments across Exeter. The role is full time and field-based, with the Exeter area and Sky Park as the nearest office. Basic DBS clearance is required.

You will perform weekly fire alarm tests and regular site inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely reporting. This position aligns with our safety-first culture and community focus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Asbestos, and Fire Regulations/Legislation.
• Experience with fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Lone working experience.
• Knowledge of Property Compliance Regulations/Legislation.
• Ability to analyse information, make informed judgements, appraise performance and manage risk.
• Ability to professionally convey information for formal reports.
• IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification.
• Desirable: ProQual Level 3 in Fire Door Installations, M&E/Construction Apprenticeship, CPD in fire safety management.

Responsibilities

• Fire safety compliance testing including weekly fire alarms, AOV, monthly emergency lights, and fire door inspections.
• Conduct site inspections of communal areas and coordinate waste removal actions.
• Carry out weekly Legionella water flushes, record findings, and report remedial actions.
• Complete Scheme Risk Assessments and prioritise works to ensure safety measures.
