Job summary

LiveWest Homes Ltd is seeking an Estate Safety Officer to protect customers, colleagues and visitors by upholding safety standards across communal areas and field-based sites in the Exeter area. You will conduct weekly fire safety testing, manage Legionella controls, carry out site inspections and complete risk assessments, with a focus on regulatory compliance and effective reporting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Asbestos, and Fire Regulations/Legislation.
• Experience with fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Lone working experience.
• Knowledge of Property Compliance Regulations/Legislation.
• Ability to analyse information, make informed judgements, appraise performance and manage risk.
• Ability to professionally convey information for formal reports.
• IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification.
• Desirable: ProQual Level 3 in Fire Door Installations, M&E/Construction Apprenticeship, CPD in fire safety management.

Responsibilities

• Fire Safety Compliance: Conduct weekly fire alarm and Automatic Smoke Vent testing, monthly emergency light testing, and fire door inspections.
• Site Inspections: Perform regular visual site inspections and raise waste removal forms.
• Legionella Management: Weekly water flushes and report remedial actions to maintain water safety.
• Risk Assessments: Complete Scheme Risk Assessments and prioritise safety measures.
