Job summary

Forestry England is seeking an Establishment Forest Works Supervisor to support beat teams in ground prep, restocking and establishing future tree crops across the district. You will coordinate with beat teams, supervise tractors and contracts, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.

You will work to meet targets within deadlines, collaborating with others while remaining self-motivated to work independently when needed. This role offers on-site work in selected locations.

Responsibilities

• Support the geographical beat teams to deliver ground prep, restocking and establishment of future tree crops across the district.
• Coordinate with the beat teams, supervising the establishment tractors and contractors resources, supervising planting and establishment contracts as required.
• Complete works to a high health & safety and quality standard, ensuring targets are met within a given time frame.
• Work closely within a team to solve problems and manage challenges that may arise throughout the process; operate independently when required.

What you’ll do

Along with the Establishment Forester your role will be to support the geographical beat teams to deliver ground prep, restocking and establishment of our future tree crops across the district. You will be responsible for coordinating with the beat teams, supervising the establishment tractors and contractors resource, supervising planting and establishment contracts as required. You will be expected to complete works to a high health & safety and quality standard, ensuring targets are met within a given time frame. You should be able to work closely within a team to solve problems and manage challenges that may arise throughout the process. There are 2 choices of location, either - Sherwood Pines NG21 9JL or Cannock Chase WS15 2UQ
