Job summary

Forestry England in the Central region is seeking an Establishment Forester for a permanent, full-time role. The position covers Sherwood Pines or Cannock Chase, working 37 hours per week with a salary of £30,105 per annum.

You will support beat teams to deliver ground prep, restocking and establishment of future tree crops, coordinating contractors and resources while maintaining high health, safety and quality standards.

What you’ll do…


Along with the Establishment Forester your role will be to support the geographical beat teams to deliver ground prep, restocking and establishment of our future tree crops across the district.


You will be responsible for coordinating with the beat teams, supervising the establishment tractors and contractors resource, supervising planting and establishment contracts as required.


You will be expected to complete works to a high health & safety and quality standard, ensuring targets are met within a given time frame. You should be able to work closely within a team to solve problems and manage challenges that may arise throughout the process. You will be self-motivated and be able to work on your own when required.

There are 2 choices of location, either - Sherwood Pines NG21 9JL or Cannock Chase WS15 2UQ


Alongside your salary, Forestry England contributes an average of 28.97% towards your pension. You will become a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.
