Job summary

Forestry England in Gloucestershire is seeking a Direct Production Forester to lead the Direct production harvesting program and ensure timber operations meet safety and industry standards.

The role is based at Bank House, Coleford, Gloucestershire with a 44-hour week and a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2029. The package includes pension contributions, generous holiday entitlement, and opportunities for professional development within a Civil Service setting.

Direct Production Forester

Salary: £37,573 - £39,661 per annum

Contract type: Fixed Term until 31st March 2029 with the possibility of extension or permanency

Hours: 44 hours per week

Where you’ll work

West Forest District is responsible for the sustainable management of over 37,000ha of the nation’s forests and woodlands in the West and South West of England. The postholder will be based at our forest office at Bank House, Coleford, Gloucestershire GL16 8BA with an expectation to travel to remotely located woods & forests to support the delivery of the programme as may be required.
