KONE is offering an Improver role at Heathrow, ideal for kicking off a career in the escalators industry by working with experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience and qualifications.

You’ll develop technical skills, follow safety standards, and benefit from structured training, on‑the‑job coaching, and clear progression opportunities within a global leader in lift and escalator solutions.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified (e.g., working towards NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) - preferred.
• Some mechanical/electrical experience or relevant qualification - advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in a fast-paced airport environment.

Responsibilities

• Support qualified escalator engineers with the maintenance, servicing, and repair of escalators across Heathrow
• Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting to ensure equipment remains safe and reliable
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance under supervision
• Work in line with KONE safety standards and Heathrow airport procedures
• Building strong relationships with customers and on-site stakeholders
• Developing your skills through structured training and on-the-job coaching
• Accurately recording work using KONE digital tools and systems

• Flexibility to work the 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm shift pattern and meet airport security requirements
