Job summary

Viridor in Tilbury (Essex) is seeking 5 Shift Operations Technicians for a full-time role on a 24-hour shift pattern as the plant transitions from construction to operations. Responsibilities include safe plant operation from control room and field, implementing process changes, fault diagnosis, DCS operation, logging, and handovers.

Ideal candidates will have experience in mechanical/electrical/process environments, with a safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH preferred) and potential eligibility

Qualifications

• Understand safe systems of work including plant isolations.
• Ability to think logically and solve problems effectively.
• Safety qualification preferred (IOSH/NEBOSH).
• Experience in mechanical, electrical or process plant environments.
• Experience in ERF, power generation, process plant or heavy industry preferred.
• Authorised Person status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate the plant safely from the central control room and in the field as part of a 24-hour shift.
• Implement plant and equipment process changes to optimise performance.
• Diagnose and rectify process and equipment faults; carry out system isolations.
• Manage DCS operation and alarm handling; support boiler chemistry standards.
• Maintain accurate shift logs and ensure effective handovers.
• Continuously monitor plant for safe operation and performance.
• Commit to personal development and flexible approach to ensure tasks are completed safely.
