Job summary

Loom Talent is partnering with a large transport and logistics business to strengthen its Employee Relations team in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on managing complex and high-risk ER matters, while developing a proactive, consistent ER approach across the organisation.

You will advise senior stakeholders, use MI to identify trends, and coach managers to take ownership of ER issues, ensuring compliant outcomes and improved processes in a unionised environment.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Employee Relations with experience managing complex and high-risk cases within a unionised environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application.
• Ability to build effective relationships with Trade Unions, HR colleagues and operational stakeholders, influencing outcomes and working collaboratively.
• Confident coach who can share knowledge and best practice, supporting HR colleagues and managers to develop ER capability.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret ER data, identify trends and recommend practical improvements.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a key point of contact for complex, sensitive and high-risk ER matters, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and absence cases.
• Providing advice and guidance to ER Business Partners, operational managers and senior stakeholders, helping to minimise risk and achieve appropriate outcomes.
• Using management information and trend analysis to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to policies, processes and manager guidance.
• Building strong relationships with HR colleagues, operational stakeholders and Trade Union representatives to support positive employee relations across a complex, unionised environment.
• Coaching and supporting managers to take greater ownership of employee relations issues, improving confidence, consistency and decision-making.
• Supporting wider people initiatives, including organisational change, while keeping up to date with employment legislation and best practice.
