An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent equine practice near Royston, Hertfordshire. Due to continued growth, the practice is looking to welcome another experienced vet to its friendly and supportive team.
This role offers the chance to work within a respected equine-only practice that provides both ambulatory and clinic-based services to a loyal client base. The successful candidate will enjoy a varied caseload covering routine, advanced and emergency equine medicine, with clinical freedom to investigate and manage cases in-house or refer externally where appropriate.
The practice boasts excellent facilities, including a purpose-built clinic with stables, a surgical suite, treatment room with stocks, dedicated lameness assessment areas and a comprehensive range of modern diagnostic equipment. Cases are allocated wherever possible to suit individual clinical interests, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced vet looking to further develop their expertise.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in orthopaedics alongside confidence in first-opinion equine practice. Experience with poor performance investigations, lameness work-ups, internal medicine, minor surgery, dentistry, anaesthesia and pre-purchase examinations would be highly desirable. Stud work experience would also be an advantage. The role would suit a collaborative clinician who enjoys mentoring colleagues and building strong client relationships.
