Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant/Project Manager to support environmental projects across the UK. You’ll work with Senior PMs and Technical Leads to keep projects safe, on track and within budget, while growing your project management and PMO skills.

You’ll contribute to a diverse portfolio, mentor junior colleagues and pursue Chartership, with a supportive team dedicated to your development and career growth.

Qualifications

• Experience as Assistant PM or PM in environmental/PMO settings.
• Understanding of programme management, WBS, dependencies and critical path.
• Commercial awareness with budget control experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication for project teams and stakeholders.
• Membership or progression toward PMI/APM/MIEnvSc/MIEMA/MRICS welcomed.
• Interest in environment and sustainable land development.

Responsibilities

• Support development of project proposals including scope, resourcing and budget.
• Create and maintain project docs: plans, forecasts and risk registers.
• Monitor progress and drive delivery to timelines.
• Manage day-to-day costs, budgets and spend alignment.
• Ensure health and safety requirements for site visits.
• Support contract management and governance activities.
• Proactively manage change and risk with technical teams.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams with colleagues, partners and suppliers.
• Champion environmental outcomes and sustainability goals across projects.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders as a trusted contact.
