Job summary

First Military Recruitment is recruiting an Environmental Advisor for a permanent role based at the Workington depot. The position focuses on advising and supporting operations to meet environmental best practices, with a strong emphasis on audits, compliance and liaison with clients and statutory bodies.

The role requires a degree and IEMA membership (or working towards), ISO14001/50001 experience, and a willingness to occasionally work outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with statutory bodies and client interactions for environmental permits.
• Lead or participate in ISO14001 audits and IMS development.
• Knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO50001 energy management.
• Mentoring skills and leadership in environmental topics.

Responsibilities

• Advise and influence managers on environmental best practice.
• Build relationships with managers and mentor on environmental issues.
• Support project sites with environmental compliance through inception to completion.
• Investigate environmental incidents and drive learning outcomes.
• Interface with clients and regulatory bodies as an environmental ambassador.
• Promote awareness and training on environmental topics to site teams.
• Ensure certifications and manage audit schedules and licenses.
