Job summary

E3recruitment is seeking a professional in the role of Environmental Compliance Specialist to influence environmental performance within a leading food manufacturer. You will report to the Environmental Manager and ensure compliance while identifying performance improvement opportunities.

With responsibilities including leading compliance activities, analyzing data, and coordinating audits, this position also offers a sustainable framework supported by successful business practices.

The role is based in Lancashire, UK, and allows for work from home one day a week.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a compliance or sustainability role within manufacturing.
  • Educated to degree level in Environmental Science or equivalent.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Knowledge of environmental reporting and legislation.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001 management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental compliance activities to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of energy management systems.
  • Analyze site performance data for business decisions.
  • Coordinate audits and inspections.
  • Deliver improvements in energy usage and waste management.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities to improve performance and site standards.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading environmental compliance activities to promote best practice and ensure all regulatory and reporting requirements are met.
  • Taking ownership of the site’s energy management systems, including ISO 50001.
  • Analysing site performance data and providing recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Coordinating audits and inspections.
  • Delivering improvements in areas including energy usage and waste management.
About You:
  • Experience working in a compliance or sustainability role within a manufacturing business.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering or similar, or with equivalent experience.
  • Proactive approach, able to identify opportunities to drive improvements.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of environmental reporting and legislation.
  • Experience of working with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001 management systems.
