Job summary

Natural Resources Wales is recruiting an Intelligence Officer to tackle waste crime across Wales. The role is desk-based, gathering and developing intelligence to support enforcement. You will work with the Crime Analyst to feed the Strategic Crime Assessment and provide insights for operational decisions.

The post involves cross-team collaboration, occasional travel, and a hybrid working pattern. A full UK driving license is required and vetting will be completed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of key legislative regimes as listed in the role description.
• Ability to communicate effectively with regulated bodies and public.
• Comfortable dealing with challenging situations and individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide Intelligence support to Field Intelligence Officers and Investigators.
• Receive and assess information and enter it into the intel system.
• Grade and develop criminal intelligence from information.
• Be the point of contact for partners in criminal intelligence.
• Carry out research to support the Crime Analyst.
• Produce intelligence products for Tasking and Coordination.
• Develop NRW's ability to deliver an intelligence-led enforcement approach.
• Provide specialist advice and guidance to support enforcement.
• Evaluate information from all sources and develop intelligence.
• Undertake health and safety duties appropriate to the post.
• Commit to NRW Equal Opportunities and Diversity policy and development.
• Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade.
