Job Description

Sharper Consulting Services is looking on behalf of our client in the Scottish Lowlands in their search for an EHO working in the commercial food & safety team on a short-term contract basis. Expected contract length: 6-12 weeks (Part time or Full time). Responsibilities include: carrying out food safety and food standards inspections, responding to complaints and enquiries, and conducting infectious disease & health and safety investigations and intervention work.

Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrate substantial experience in conducting food inspections on behalf of a local authority.
  2. Maintain a fully up-to-date competency matrix and engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to stay abreast of the latest developments in food safety regulations and practices.
  3. Hold either a BSc/MSc in Environmental Health with REHIS/EHORB (or equivalent) registration.
  4. Proven experience in the field of environmental health, specifically in food safety inspections.
  5. Thorough understanding of relevant legislation and regulations governing food safety.
