Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council in Hamilton is recruiting an Environmental Health Technical Assistant to lead enforcement on littering and dog fouling and support the Dog Warden role. You will patrol, issue fixed penalties and may appear in court when required.

Excellent literacy, numerical and IT skills are essential, with the ability to manage workloads effectively. A driver’s licence and willingness to travel around the South Lanarkshire area are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent literacy, numerical and IT skills.
• Experience working with the public, animals (dogs) and carrying out enforcement duties is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Enforce relevant legislation on littering and dog fouling.
• Conduct patrols and serve fixed penalty notices.
• May appear in court on behalf of the Council.
• Travel around the South Lanarkshire area and possess a driver’s licence.
