South Lanarkshire Council is seeking an Environmental Health Technical Assistant in Hamilton on a 22-month temporary post. The role focuses on enforcing littering and dog fouling laws, including patrols and possible court appearances.
Strong literacy, numerical and IT skills are required, with a driver’s licence and ability to travel within the South Lanarkshire area. You will support the Dog Warden role and provide coverage as needed.

We are seeking to appoint assertive, enthusiastic and self motivated Environmental Health Technical Assistant who can accept and tackle demanding goals. The Assistant will be motivated in bringing changes to people's behaviour in terms of littering and dog fouling. They will also provide cover and support to the Dog Warden role.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent literacy, numerical and IT skills and have the ability to organise your workload in an effective and productive way.
Ideally you will have experience working with the public, animals (dogs) and carrying out enforcement duties in order to join our specialist team dealing with a range of Environmental Crime.
You must have the ability to travel around the South Lanarkshire area and you will need to have a driver's licence.
