Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking an Engineering Officer/Health and Safety Professional to join the Health and Safety, Performance and Training Team. You will contribute to improving safety culture across Roads Operations, including health and safety, training, performance and quality.

The role requires the ability to travel across the Council area, strong IT and organisational skills, and experience in implementing Health and Safety management systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or Nebosh/IOSH Level 6 qualification.
• Ability to travel throughout the Council area.
• Experience developing and implementing Health and Safety management systems is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Roads Operations team responsible for health and safety, performance and training.
• Contribute to improving safety culture and service improvements across Roads Operations.
• Develop and implement Health and Safety management systems as required.
