Job summary

EMBS Engineering in Norfolk is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to ensure environmental compliance across a major power and infrastructure project. You will work on-site with the SHE Manager and project teams to provide expert advice and support.

Responsibilities include monitoring compliance with legislation and DCO, managing Siltbuster units and EA water discharge, conducting audits and risk assessments, developing EMS, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum third-level Environmental qualification - NEBOSH Environmental or equivalent
• Ideally a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related field
• Current CSCS card or equivalent, and EUSR SHEA Power

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental advice and support across project
• Monitor compliance with environmental legislation and DCO
• Manage Siltbuster units and water discharge within EA permitted levels
• Conduct environmental audits, inspections and risk assessments
• Develop, implement and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS) across the project
• Advise on waste management, pollution prevention and resource efficiency
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage environmental permits and reporting
• Deliver environmental awareness training and toolbox talks (TBTs) to staff
• Lead investigations into environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions
• Assist in achieving and maintaining relevant environmental certifications
• Reporting on environmental performance metrics and recommending improvements
