Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Environmental Advisor to support a portfolio of high-profile infrastructure projects across the energy and utilities sectors in the UK. The role focuses on promoting environmental best practice on construction sites and ensuring compliance with legislation and project requirements.

You will work with project teams, ecologists and regulators, conduct environmental inspections, manage permits and reporting, and contribute to continuous improvement through data analysis and

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related discipline.
• Experience as Environmental Advisor in construction, utilities, infrastructure or energy projects.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and its practical application on construction projects.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
• Membership of IEMA or progression toward accreditation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promote environmental best practice across construction sites.
• Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits for compliance.
• Support environmental incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Assist with collection, analysis and reporting of environmental data.
• Monitor environmental performance and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support development and implementation of environmental campaigns and project documentation.
• Advise site teams on environmental compliance requirements, controls and mitigation measures.
• Assist with management of environmental permits, licences and planning conditions.
• Work with project teams, ecologists, consultants and regulators.
• Maintain accurate environmental records to demonstrate contractual and legal compliance.
