M Group is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. You will collaborate from early works through construction to commissioning, promoting environmental sustainability and ensuring compliance on-site.
You will visit sites regularly, identify hazards, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to mitigation, surveys and permits. Strong communication and a passion for the environment are essential.

This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

As our Environmental Advisor you'll be working collaboratively with other functions from early works and design through construction to commissioning. You'll proactively engage with operational teams and client Environmental and Sustainability team to promote collaboration and ensuring projects meet environmental and sustainability requirements.
You'll be assisting the design team in the identification of environmental hazards and constraints. Engaging with third party and sub-contractors to deliver environmental and ecological surveys, planning permissions, permits and consents to enable construction.
You'll provide advice and guidance on environmental and sustainability initiatives, solutions and encourage continual improvement through proactive engagement with operational teams. You'll be regularly visiting sites to conduct inspections and incident investigations.
You'll develop waste and environmental management plans, environmental risk assessments and where necessary. Assist the operational team in the identification, and implementation of suitable control measures, training and briefings.
You'll need to compile environmental and sustainability reports and maintain regular reporting mechanisms.
You'll be the point of contact and liaise with client team.
