  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project stakeholders, including designers, engineers, and regulatory bodies, to integrate EHS considerations into project planning and decision-making processes.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver EHS training programs to project team members, promoting awareness and adherence to safety and environmental protocols.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Establish systems for tracking EHS performance metrics, incident reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop initial emergency response plans and procedures appropriate for the conceptual phase, ensuring readiness for potential incidents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma) is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years of EHS experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the nuclear or high-risk infrastructure sectors. Experience in early-stage project development is highly desirable.
  • Chartered Membership with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) or equivalent professional recognition.
  • In-depth understanding of UK EHS legislation, nuclear industry standards, and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Attributes:

  • Ability to anticipate EHS challenges and proactively develop solutions during the project's conceptual phase.
  • Flexibility to navigate the evolving nature of early-stage project development and adjust EHS strategies accordingly.
  • Proven track record of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
