Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking individuals interested in a career as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. Previous experience supporting children or adults with additional needs is preferred but not required; a strong desire to start is sufficient.

We collaborate with schools supporting students with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language challenges, and social, emotional & mental health needs.

Teaching assistants will support students aged 5-16 years, either 1:1 or in small groups, throughout their academic day.

The role involves:

• Providing tailored support to children with SEMH and SEN
• Creating a safe, engaging environment for learning and fun
• Academic support in 1:1 or group settings
• Assisting teachers

The Ideal Candidate:

• Teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, either voluntarily or professionally
• Experience working with children in youth settings, scouts, guides, sports coaching, etc.

Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Temporary with potential for permanent
Minimum Daily Rate: GBP85
Hours: Term time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
