Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking individuals interested in a career as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. Previous experience working with children or supporting adults with additional needs is preferred, but we also consider candidates without experience who have a strong desire to start.

We work closely with schools that support students with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language difficulties, and social, emotional & mental health challenges.

Teaching assistants will support students aged 5-16 throughout their academic day, either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

The role involves:

  • Providing tailored support to children with SEMH and SEN
  • Creating a safe, engaging environment for learning and development
  • Offering academic support on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting the teacher as needed

The ideal candidate:

  • Teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, either voluntarily or professionally, or experience working with children in youth settings

Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract: Temporary, with potential for permanent opportunities

Minimum Daily Rate: £85

Hours: Term-time only, Monday to Friday

Start Date: ASAP
