Job summary

Aberdeen plc, Edinburgh, is seeking an Entity Financial Controller to oversee the financial management of a portfolio of Aberdeen legal entities, ensuring accurate reporting, control, statutory and regulatory deliverables, and strong governance. You will interact with entity boards and senior leadership while applying technical accounting and commercial insight to drive quality decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with CA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in financial control, accounting, audit or commercial finance in financial services or investment management.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems such as Oracle.
• German language skills and knowledge of German GAAP are desirable.
• Audit experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own and review legal entity financial reporting and present board packs to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain robust legal entity control through monthly P&L, balance sheet substantiation and IFRS reporting.
• Oversee statutory accounts, regulatory reporting and audit activity with internal and external providers.
• Support technical accounting adjustments, local GAAP reporting and statutory disclosures.
• Partner with planning and performance teams for forecasting, budgeting and decision-making.
• Represent Finance in governance forums and on legal entity boards where appropriate.
