Job summary

Aberdeen plc in Edinburgh is seeking an Entity Financial Controller to manage financial reporting for a portfolio of Aberdeen entities. You will oversee monthly P&L, balance sheet substantiation, IFRS reporting, statutory accounts, and audits, partnering with planning and performance teams for forecasts and budgets.

The role offers exposure to entity boards and senior leadership, with blended working arrangements. Requires CA/ACCA, IFRS knowledge, and strong Excel/Oracle capabilities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant at CA/ACCA level or equivalent (essential).
• Experience in financial control, accounting, audit or commercial finance in financial services/investment management (essential).
• Strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise (essential).
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills (essential).
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems such as Oracle (essential).
• German language skills (highly desirable).

Responsibilities

• Own and review legal entity financial reporting and present board packs to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain robust legal entity control through monthly P&L, balance sheet substantiation and IFRS reporting.
• Oversee statutory accounts, regulatory reporting and audit activity with internal and external providers.
• Support technical accounting adjustments, local GAAP reporting and statutory disclosures.
• Partner with planning and performance teams for forecasting, budgeting and decision-making.
• Represent Finance in governance forums and on legal entity boards where appropriate.
