Job summary

Aberdeen plc in Edinburgh is seeking an early-career Financial Reporting & Control Analyst to strengthen month-end reporting, financial control activities and statutory processes. You will work with Financial Controllers, Finance Operations, Tax and Auditors, developing technical capability and stakeholder management while learning from experienced colleagues in a blended working environment.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (essential).
• Understanding of accounting principles, financial statements and month-end reporting processes (essential).
• Experience in financial analysis or finance operations (essential).
• Ability to analyse financial information and present clear, concise commentary (essential).
• Oracle or similar ERP exposure is advantageous (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support monthly legal entity financial analysis, including statutory and regulatory reporting, P&L and balance sheet commentary and management information.
• Prepare balance sheet reviews, reconciliations and supporting analysis to maintain strong financial control and data integrity.
• Assist with statutory accounts, regulatory returns and audit deliverables, working with internal teams, outsourced providers and auditors.
• Support technical accounting, local GAAP analysis, tax balances and entity-specific disclosures.
• Contribute to forecasting, budgeting and financial planning processes, explaining key movements and trends.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting efficiency, documentation and use of financial data.

About the Department

The Finance function sits at the heart of Aberdeen and supports informed decision-making, financial integrity and long-term value creation. Working alongside Financial Controllers, Finance Operations, Tax, Treasury and senior stakeholders, the UK & EMEA Financial Reporting and Control team delivers high-quality reporting, controls and governance across legal entities. The team fosters collaboration, learning and continuous improvement, helping enable our clients to be better investors.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional to join the UK & EMEA Financial Reporting and Control team in Edinburgh. You will support month-end reporting, financial control activities, statutory and regulatory reporting, audit delivery and legal entity planning. The role offers broad exposure to financial reporting, budgeting and commercial insight, while providing the opportunity to learn from experienced Financial Controllers. With a blended working approach and a supportive environment, this role is ideal for someone looking to build technical expertise, analytical capability and stakeholder management skills while investing in their tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities
