Aberdeen plc is seeking an experienced Entity Financial Controller in Edinburgh to oversee the financial management of a portfolio of legal entities. You will manage reporting, control, statutory and regulatory deliverables, and interact with entity boards and senior leadership to drive high-quality decision making.

The role requires Chartered Accountant qualifications, strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant - CA, ACCA or equivalent (essential)
• Experience within financial control, accounting, audit or commercial finance in financial services or investment management (essential)
• Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP and financial reporting requirements (essential)
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills (essential)
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems such as Oracle (essential)
• German language skills (highly desirable)
• Knowledge of German GAAP (highly desirable)
• Audit experience (desirable)

Responsabilités

• Own and review legal entity financial reporting, providing clear insights and presenting board packs to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain robust legal entity control through oversight of monthly P&L, balance sheet substantiation and IFRS reporting.
• Oversee statutory accounts, regulatory reporting and audit activity, ensuring high-quality delivery from internal and outsourced providers.
• Support technical accounting adjustments, local GAAP reporting requirements and statutory disclosures.
• Partner with planning and performance teams to support legal entity forecasting, budgeting and financial decision-making.
• Represent Finance in governance forums and, where appropriate, act as a finance representative on legal entity boards.
