Job summary

The Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a senior data leader to shape the future of data. Reporting to the Information and Data Governance Manager, you will lead the Data Management team and collaborate with Digital, Data and Technology colleagues to embed data management, quality assurance and lifecycle processes across the Service.

This role focuses on establishing enterprise data standards, improving data quality and literacy, and ensuring trusted information supports frontline

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Management team and provide line management for two Data Management Officers.
• Develop and embed data management, quality assurance and data lifecycle processes.
• Influence enterprise-wide data standards and improve data quality and literacy.
• Champion data privacy by design and ethical use.
• Develop governance frameworks, data ownership and lifecycle management.
• Oversee data modelling, metadata, data dictionaries and data products.
• Support projects to embed enterprise data requirements into new systems.
• Build data capability and literacy across the Service.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly and build relationships.
• Create a culture where trusted high-quality data is a vital organisational asset.
