Job summary

Sierra is seeking a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer to own end-to-end deployments of our AI platform for enterprise environments. You will architect, deploy, upgrade, and manage deployments, ensuring security and compliance while defining scalable processes.

You will work with Enterprise customers and cross-functional teams across Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Success to build repeatable, reliable deployment patterns and tooling.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or solutions architecture roles with customer-facing deployment work.
• Proven ability to design and implement deployment architectures across enterprise environments.
• Experience with AWS, Terraform, container orchestration, and cloud networking.
• Ability to navigate enterprise stakeholders and translate requirements into deployment plans.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment architecture conversations and execution across customer environments, including VPC configuration, permissioning, networking, and infrastructure provisioning.
• Manage the full infrastructure lifecycle for critical customers: initial deployment, upgrades, scaling, and incident support.
• Develop and maintain deployment runbooks, upgrade procedures, and automation tooling for repeatable operations.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure Sierra's platform is deployable and operable across diverse customer requirements.
• Collaborate with customers' platform engineering, security, and DevOps teams to meet constraints and compliance requirements.
• Translate customer needs into concrete deployment plans during pre-sales and onboarding.
