Job summary

Sierra is building an AI platform and seeks a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer to own customer deployments end-to-end. You will architect, deploy, upgrade, and manage Sierra's AI platform infrastructure across enterprise environments, ensuring security, compliance, and scalability.

You will establish standards, tooling, and processes for repeatable deployments and work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or solutions architecture with customer deployments.
• Experience with AWS services, Terraform, container orchestration, and cloud networking.
• Ability to navigate security reviews, compliance requirements, and change management with enterprise stakeholders.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end deployment architecture conversations and execution across customer environments.
• Design and implement deployment strategies including VPC configuration, permissions, networking, and provisioning.
• Manage lifecycle of deployments: initial deployment, upgrades, scaling, and incident support.
• Develop and maintain deployment runbooks, upgrade procedures, and automation tooling.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure deployability and operability across customer requirements.
• Coordinate with customers' platform security and DevOps teams to meet constraints and compliance.
