Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC) is seeking a Band 3 Complex Care Assistant to support pupils’ enteral feeding needs in Birmingham Special Schools. The role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time with a 30-minute unpaid break.

The post requires experience with children, especially those with complex needs. Full competency-based training is provided, and an Enhanced DBS is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or above in Care with experience / knowledge of working with children with complex needs.
• Demonstrate willingness to undertake a range of duties and to learn new tasks including clinical procedures where relevant.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team with a commitment to interagency working.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils’ enteral feeding needs within Birmingham Special Schools.
• Contribute to safe and effective growth measurement of children/young people within the Special School Nursing Service.
• Undertake administrative duties to enable the service to function effectively.
